Finding programs on the Learning Grid computers
The computers have programs installed that are not accessible from the start menu. Go to the desktop and run the program called "Novell Delivered Applications" to find them.
Compiling Java programs
Go to "Development Tools" and then "Java Development Kit". Run "JDK 1.4.1 Prompt" and it will give you a command line window with access to the Java SDK.
Text Editors
A simple text editor with syntax highlighting is Notepad 2. It can be downloaded to and run from the Learning Grid computers.
Alternatively, under "Utilities" and "Editors" in Novell Delivered Applications you can find Emacs and PFE.
Using Subversion
RapidSVN can be easily installed to your userspace.
