Target release list
  • Amoeba (Bryan)
  • Avian Apocalypse (Bob)
  • Bunnies (Bryan)
  • Curses! (Bob)
  • Jetpack Jamboree (Bob)
  • Kung Fu Charlies (NickF)
  • Ninja Pirate Stealth Festival (Bryan)
  • Pirate Challenge (Jon)
  • Prison Break (Mat)
  • Splat! (Bryan)
  • Stealth Assault (Bob)

Could one person who worked on each of the above post here to let me know that they are going to take responsibility for packaging the 1.0 release. Or alternatively let me know that it isn't going to be polished up for the CD.

The absolute, non-negotiable deadline for the content will be midday Monday 11th September. That is, tested, debugged, and in a state so that I can simply drag it into the appropriate folder, and zip everything to upload to the CD people. I'll work out soon how exactly the files should be sorted.

I won't be pestering whoever volunteers as the 'release manager' for each project - we're a society of members, not employees, and we're all capable of putting a date in our iCal. If it doesn't happen without me being a badass about it, then it just wasn't meant to be.

The first thing I would like for each of these projects is a 64x64 png-format logo, preferably one that makes appropriate use of the alpha channel. I'd like these before Monday 26th June, so I can use them for the mock-up CD menus to show to our sponsors.

I'll take repsonsibility for Jetpack Jamboree, Curses! and Stealth Assault, if nobody else on those teams objects.

I'd like to take some responsibility for Prison Break (which we probably need to change the name of), but since I'm working full time I guess NickF is the one who's more likely to get time to work on it. Also, I suck at any kind of graphics, so appropriate use of the alpha channel may end up with some kind of gradient.

Anyway, in short, depends if I find somewhere to live over the summer and who with, really.

Bob, did you want to take responsibility for AA as well? I'd ideally like stuff before the deadline, and I'm not sure that'd be possible under Nico, with him being in the US.

Mat, I'll put you down for Prison Break. I'm not bothered who actually does the work, I just want to know that someone's overseeing it getting done. I'll switch it to NickF should he volunteer.

His call; I don't mind either way.

Bob, I'll put you down as responsible for AA for now. Nico, can you either confirm that you're happy with this or ask me to change it.

Jon, can you confirm that you'll be handling the pirate game?

Hopefully you can put me and Jimbob down for Kung Fu Charlies. I've only just started it, but hopefully it shouldn't take long (touch wood)

Nick, I've put you down as responsible for releasing KFC.

All further information on what I need from each of you will be put on the wiki, on http://www.warwickgamedesign.co.uk/dev/CD%202006 . I won't necessarily post on the forum about it, but I assume you all check UpdatedPages regularly, or subscribe to the wiki's RSS feed.

I just boshed it into the 'game' - it looks good. Do you think transparent/non-transparent will be enough, or do we need a full alpha channel? At the minute it just uses magenta rgb(255,0,255) as the transparent colour.

Here's my controversially minimal early design for the CD:

That's good.

Is there going to be a logo on the right as well? Only, it looks like you're planning that, from the layout.
